Unlike many of the short courses available online and face-to-face, our five month Healing Course is an in-depth programme designed and taught by our founder, Yumiko Asakura.
Yumiko was born as a Shaman and is a Master Healer & Alchemist. She has taught monks, shamans and other spiritual teachers globally. She is descendant of the Japanese royal family with Samurai traditions and links to Onmyōji (masters of astronomy), and a fully qualified psychotherapist.
She is also a Fellow of the Complementary Medical Association (FMCA). Yumiko has applied all of her learning and experience to the creation of this Course and we are excited to offer it for the first time outside of Japan.

While you don’t have to become a practitioner on completion of the Healing Course, it is designed to fully equip you to practice as a healer so is ideal if you are looking for a change of career or to enhance your existing skills. The Course is accredited by Leaves Institute which will give students the highest standards required for professional practice

• It will equip you to practice as a professional healer – The comprehensive five month healing course has been created for those who want to practice healing professionally. One of the areas we cover is protecting yourself energetically so you are not adversely affected by the energy of others. If you are looking for a new direction that has the potential to change your life, this could be the course for you.

• The Course is aligned to National Occupational Standards for the Healing profession and was written to align to the Learning Outcomes set out by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

• It teaches a unique healing approach called Jikochiyu –Jikochiyu has been created by our founder, Yumiko Assakura FMCA (Fellow of the Complementary Medicine Association), based on her many years’ experience as a healer.

• It focuses on achieving measurable results – If you are planning to charge for your services as a healer (and even if you are not) it is important to produce discernible improvements for your clients. Our course focuses on active healing practice to build your skills and confidence. Whether or not you choose to become a professional healer, the skills you learn will remain with you for life.

• It offers you powerful personal healing – The word Jikochiyu means self-healing. The Course has been designed not only to teach you how to heal, but also to teach you about yourself and your life’s purpose. This course brings about big shifts as you embark on a journey of personal discovery and transition.

• It is not the same as Reiki – In Reiki, the focus is on simply channelling healing energy.

  While our healing approach uses universal energy, we focus on developing the individual’s healing abilities which allows the student to give a unique healing energy, rather than merely channelling. The aim is to guide you gently towards a spiritual awakening that will allow you to live more fully and fearlessly. You will not find this approach taught anywhere else other than at Leaves Institute.

By ‘healing’ we mean not simply relief from pain but also – and more fundamentally – the freedom to become who you truly are and fully aligned to your life’s purpose. Only when you achieve this can you experience profound fulfilment, deep joy and lasting relief from pain and dis-ease.

Jikochiyu (jick-oh-chee-you)– which means ‘self-heal’ in Japanese – is the basis of all Leaves Institute teachings. When you learn to heal using this approach you understand that the role of a healer is simply to facilitate healing and support the process. It is the individual who heals themselves. This is very important because it ensures that people retain their autonomy and ability to heal themselves without becoming dependent on the healer.

We believe that some types of sickness, pain and difficulties are a symptom of the person’s disconnection from their true self and purpose. Supporting the person to reconnect to their true self allows these problems to resolve themselves. Therefore, healing is not about simply ‘fixing’ physical, mental or emotional problems, but about connecting to one’s full potential and facilitating balance within the body and mind.

To fit around people’s busy lifestyles, the Leaves Accredited Healing Course is an online course which you can watch in your own time . We have created a series of talks that you can listen to at a time to suit you and come back to again and again whenever you need to.

We use a variety of different approaches designed to support your development both as healer and an individual. The Healing Course includes:

• Active observation and feedback.

• Intuitive understanding and reflection.

• How to measure physical and emotional discomfort.

• Healing case study.

With this five month course, you can learn to heal yourself, family and friends and your environment.
You can develop your strength, let go of your limitations and blockages, find your life path and a natural spiritual way of life.

On successful completion of the final unit “Becoming a Professional Healer“ (included in this course) you will become a Leaves accredited ‘Jokochiyu' Healer and you can consider helping others to heal and develop in the same way .

The Healing Course is a five month course. At the end of it you will become eligible for accreditation.

On successful completion of the accreditation process and passing the case studies, you will qualify as a Leaves Institute Accredited Healing Practitioner.
